Superstition: Four-Leaf Clover
Four-leaf clovers are thought to bring the finder good fortune, with historical ties to seeing fairies and banishing evil spirits. Finding one has been calculated at approximately a one in ten thousand chance!
Two clovers carved from emerald come together in this pendant. The opaque emeralds have a gorgeous range of pale and dark greens with splashes of black mixed in. The backside of the large clover is adorned with the number 13 in a gothic-style font surrounded by cut-outs to reveal the stone; the backside of the small clover is stamped with my maker's mark (BLJ). The pendant measures approximately 1.5" tall and 0.65" wide at the widest point. The raised points have been polished to shine, while the low points retain the oxidized color to show off the depth and details. All metal used in this piece is sterling silver.

A few notes on caring for oxidized sterling silver: oxidized patina on sterling silver isn't particularly durable to long-term exposure to water (like bathing or swimming) or a lot of scrubbing, as friction is the way to polish silver to shine. Constant exposure to tasks such as hand washing, bathing, swimming, washing dishes, etc., will slowly wear away the oxidized patina leaving a shiny silver finish.
