Superstition: Broken Mirrors

Breaking a mirror is said to bring seven year's of bad luck. This ancient Roman superstition comes from the belief that breaking a mirror was disrespectful to the gods - this would result in the person being cursed with misfortune. Luckily for the individual, the Romans also believed that the human body was renewed every seven years, resulting in the curse being broken!

This antique-style wall mirror is cut from jeweler's brass and features etched detailing inspired by Victorian mirror designs. The mirror itself is an actual broken glass mirror held in UV resin and set within the mirror's frame. The pendant measures approximately 1.8" tall and 1.3" wide at the widest point. The raised points have been polished to shine, while the low points retain the oxidized color to show off the depth and details. All metal used in this piece is jeweler's brass.

This design is made to order. It is important to note that each individual mirror will break in different patterns! Please allow up to 2 weeks from the date of purchase for your pendant to be created just for you!
