Littlefoot the Apatosaurus, Cera the Triceratops, Ducky the Saurolophus, Spike the Stegosaurus, and Petrie the Pteranodon come together again in the Great Valley millennia later in skeletal form. Of course, a tree star had to make an appearance in this statement piece as well!
The center stone is an absolutely phenomenal Ethiopian chocolate opal, full of fiery flashes that my camera refuses to capture properly. The skeletons were all drawn by hand on thick sterling silver and acid etched to create a raised and weathered texture. In between each skeletal panel rests quartz bones. On the backside of the opal is an etched volcano, with brass lava flowing from its mouth and a layer of fused 24kt gold accenting the column of lava chunks, rock, and ash erupting from the 'Mountain that Burns' The necklace is finished with chain made by hand, slow but so worth it; every link in this necklace is soldered closed for a safe, secure hold. The raised points have been polished to shine, while the low points retain the oxidized color to show off the depth and details. All metal used in this piece is sterling silver, with the exception of the brass lava and fused 24kt gold.
This necklace is fully adjustable, as the clasp can fit in any link of the chain. The maximum length is 19.5". If you would like an extension to the chain for extra length, please let me know!
This is a fantastic, high-grade opal. My camera always struggles to capture optical effects like flashes - this opal is absolutely hypnotizing in person and my camera is truly not doing it justice even in the videos on my social media. It is truly stunning in person!

A few notes on caring for oxidized sterling silver: oxidized patina on sterling silver isn't particularly durable to long-term exposure to water (like bathing or swimming) or a lot of scrubbing, as friction is the way to polish silver to shine. Constant exposure to tasks such as hand washing, bathing, swimming, washing dishes, etc., will slowly wear away the oxidized patina leaving a shiny silver finish.
