This pendant features an aptly named mushroom agate. The banding of the stone mimics shelf fungi (also known as bracket fungi), which adhere to decaying trees and other organic material to grow right off the vertical surfaces. Hanging onto the sides and back of this pendant are brass shelf fungi. The backside of the pendant is textured as tree bark. The spiky crystal pockets in the stone are cut out, depicted as knots in the wood on the backside that hold a sparkly surprise. The bail for the chain is a brass loop. The pendant measures 2.5" tall and 1.5" wide at the widest point. All metal used in this piece is sterling silver with the exception of the brass accents.
*There is a small flaw on the right side of the bezel; it does not impact the structural integrity of the piece, but the price is reduced as a result.

A few notes on caring for sterling silver: oxidized patina on sterling silver isn't particularly durable to long-term exposure to water (like bathing or swimming) or a lot of scrubbing, as friction is the way to polish silver to shine. Constant exposure to tasks such as hand washing, bathing, swimming, washing dishes, etc., will slowly wear away the oxidized patina leaving a shiny silver finish.
